Tasneem Dairywala is a children’s author and illustrator with a BFA from OCAD University, dedicated to creating picture books that help children navigate complex emotions. Drawing on her South Asian heritage and experiences as a mom, her self-published picture books – including The Little Elf Finds His Spark and The Little Fairy Finds Her Glow – celebrate diversity and emotional resilience. She has been fortunate to receive mentorship from art director Giuseppe Castellano and editor Sarah Harvey, as well as grants from the Canada Council for the Arts and Ontario Arts Council. Her work has also been featured in anthologies such as The Lived Collective and Shallot. As a proud member of The Writers’ Union of Canada and founder of Art Ignite, a non-profit community arts organization, Tasneem leads creative workshops in schools and libraries. Tasneem lives in Wasaga Beach, Ontario, with her husband and daughter.
